Poston, Arizona is a small community located in La Paz County. It was established during World War II as one of the ten internment camps for Japanese Americans. The camp was named after Charles Debrille Poston, known as the "Father of Arizona" for his efforts in promoting the territory's development. Poston housed over 17,000 Japanese Americans who were forcibly relocated from their homes on the West Coast. Today, the site serves as a reminder of the injustices faced by Japanese Americans during the war and is home to the Poston Memorial Monument.
